The largest public hospital in the eastern region of Libya with 1200 beds. Proudly, FARES has managed to successfully procure, install and run its large network in the year 2014.
All departments were connected to the Data Centre via fibre optic cables, which were connected to two Cisco core switches with 10GB speed and each LAN has 1 GB speed itself, controlled by Dell servers. All are protected by firewalls and intrusion detectors.

The project was divided into two main parts:

Installing complete Cisco Solution for wired and wireless network, covering the whole hospital, consisting of:
Installing approximately 5200 network points distributed over 55 departments, and using 415 KM of cat6 e cables.
Two Nexus 7010 with fibre and copper modules, working in redundancy.
A combination between 4500 and 3700 series switches were used in the departments as total of approximately 80 switches.
Wireless controllers working in redundancy.
To secure the network and servers, Juniper Firewalls ISG1000 were used with high processing power and throughput. Also, Juniper firewalls ISG1000 were used between the core and the internet zone with the data centre as DMZ on the Juniper firewall.
To complete the security solution, Juniper IDPs were put in-line to detect any malicious traffic or security holes with complete redundancy in hardware.
